Some people can be allergic to certain dental materials.
We use homeopathic remedies as a support in a number of areas of our practise.
Rescue Remedy isn’t strictly a homeopathic remedy as it’s a mixture of Bach flower essences. We use it to prevent emotional trauma. It is also spectacular at preventing patients going into shock, which is quite common in conventional practice after surgery. Due to its efficacy shock is a non-issue in our practice.
We use nosodes of x-ray and local anesthetics to counteract untoward effects of these procedures and medicines. Dr Howard isn’t certain of the nature or scale of the problems associated with radiography or local anesthetics, however these specific remedies are designed to support those who are concerned.
After fillings and surgery we routinely use homoeopathic. They are notably successfully at reducing postoperative sensitivity. Because dead teeth are such an issue to holistic dental practioner I see this as an important way of minimizing nerve trauma and preventing teeth dying (with the unhealthy consequence of root canal treatment) or else removal of the tooth. Notably we estimate that follow on dead teeth after fillings in our office is 60-80% down on a conventional practice. We believe homeopathic use is one of the main influences here.
Post surgically we aim to reduce trauma, pain and any long lived problems associated with scar tissue. It is reasonable to assess our techniques as efficious because most patients report taking very few or often no conventional pain killers after surgical procedures.
